Anambra Police PRO Bags IGP Award, Dedicates Honour to Teamwork, Public Trust

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga has been honoured at the prestigious Inspector General of Police (IGP) Awards held in Abuja.

Recognized for exemplary service and commitment to duty, Ikenga used the platform not just to bask in the glory of the accolade but to underscore the importance of teamwork, humility and public trust in policing.

“This award is not a trophy of personal excellence,” the PPRO stated passionately. “It is a testament to the collective effort of officers and men of Anambra State Police Command who have embraced a renewed vision, one grounded in excellence, duty and service.”

With a tone of resolve and humility, the PPRO dismissed any notions of self glorification. “This award does not make me extraordinary. I carry it with the honour of humility and a fierce determination to do even more,” the officer said. “I have seen men and women who represent the very best of our nation , officers who, through sweat and sacrifice, courage and character, have risen above the call of duty.”

Highlighting the core values guiding the Command, the PPRO emphasized that public trust remains their greatest asset. “Our greatest resource is the trust of the people we serve. We urge the public not to grow tired of assessing us. Your comments and feedback shape many of the decisions we take.”

Concluding the address, the award recipient reaffirmed the Command unwavering commitment: “This recognition is not an end but a reaffirmation of our resolve to protect with courage and serve with compassion.”

The event, which brought together top brass of the Nigerian Police Force and dignitaries from across the country, celebrated excellence, dedication and innovation within the Force qualities that the Anambra State Police Command is evidently championing with renewed vigor.
