Ahead 2027 general election, General Overseer of Bible Base and Miracle Assembly, Onitsha, Anambra State, Rev. Dr. Jerry Nwachukwu, has warned Southern political class especially those of them from South East and South South against defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with newsmen in Onitsha, Nwachukwu urged them to thread with caution the way they set themselves against the Northern political class.

He said President Bola Tinubu appeared to have lost substantial support from the North and the only viable option for him for his 2027 second term agenda was to poach from South.

Recently, the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, his predecessor and the entire People’s Democratic Party (PDP) structure in the State defected to APC.

Speculators are rife that Governor Eno of Akwa Ibom might soon join the bandwagon of Governors moving to APC.

Already many believed that the party successfully rigged itself into Government House of Edo State.

The party is also believed to be perfecting their plot on how to successfully rig the November 8, 2025 Anambra State Governorship election.

But Rev. Nwachukwu said that the North on the other hand is mobilising seriously against Tinubu’s second term agenda, stating that the President and his Southern alliance would not contain the onslaught from the North.

” The heat from the North will swallow the Southern political class. The Northerners are seriously getting themselves together for 2027 election.

The President is trying to unite the South as his base against the North. And you know we are divided here” he said.

The cleric further argued that although Southern voters might back the North depending on the candidate they present, Tinubu and his strategists believe that these Southern political class were the ones that could rig election.

“But I foresee a situation where rigging will be difficult because electorate will vote and protect their votes given the level of suffering and hunger in the country,” he added.
