All Set as Tinubu Storms Anambra to Commission Soludo’s Landmark Projects

Preparations have reached top stage as the People of Anambra State await the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday 8th May 2025.

Most of the areas within the capital city are already wearing a new look as workers were seen putting finishing touches to some of the projects expected to be Inaugurated by the President.

Some of the projects and areas include, Doctor Alex Ekwueme Square, the New Government House, Governor’s Lodge and Presidential Lodge, Solution Fun City and Awka Country Club among others.

Security has also been beefed up within the state while traffic adjustments have also been made to ensure a smooth and hitch free visit of the president.

The Anambra State government had last week stopped all private and group activities within the Doctor Alex Ekwueme Square to make way for workers and machines doing finishing touches in that axis.

Flowers have been planted, roads marked, street lights installed in all the areas that the President is expected to touch.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo while addressing workers on May Day celebration, expressed delight over the visit describing it as a partnership that works.

The Governor enjoined the people to give Mr President a resounding welcome as he visits to Inaugurate some of the projects done in the past three years by the present government in the state.

Some residents of Awka have also bared their minds on expectations from the visit noting that the projects expected to be Inaugurated are classy and people oriented.

A stakeholder and Community leader in Awka, Ozor Obi Ochije said Mr President has shown great capacity as a leader by visiting states irrespective of different party affiliations.

Ozor Ochije who described the projects billed for inauguration the President as befitting for Awka the Anambra State capital and thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his progressive mindset which has resulted to developmental projects all over the state.

The Executive Director, Catch Them Young Community Initiative (CATYCOI) Comrade Nonso Orakwe remarked that the President’s visit to commission projects in Anambra State shows a good relationship between him and Governor Soludo’s administration.

According to him , ” it’s a positive gesture, though not necessarily required, as the projects were undertaken by the state, still, it’s no big deal but show of intergovernmental harmony”

Meanwhile the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr Ikioye Orutugu has held a high powered meeting and deliberations with other security Chiefs
In the state aimed at ensuring security of lives and property during and after the Presidential visit as confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga in a press statement within the week.

Meanwhile President Tinubu is also expected to have a town hall meeting with stakeholders including traditional and religious leaders, presidents general and other leaders of thought in the state at the Doctor Alex Ekwueme square which also was reconstructed by the present administration in the State.
