NSCDC, FRSC Strengthen Partnership to Boost Public Safety, Security in Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration to enhance public safety, security and the protection of lives and property in Anambra State.

The commitment was made on Thursday, September 16, 2026, when the NSCDC State Commandant, Anambra State Command, Commandant Maku Olatunde, paid a familiarisation visit to the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, at the Sector Command Headquarters in Awka.

Speaking during the visit, Commandant Maku emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration and a cordial working relationship between both agencies, describing their partnership as essential to effective public safety and security operations.

He highlighted the complementary responsibilities of the NSCDC and FRSC, particularly in road traffic management, emergency response and the protection of lives and property.

According to him, stronger cooperation between the two agencies would enhance their capacity to safeguard Critical National, State and Local Government Assets and Infrastructure.

“Continuous collaboration and a cordial working relationship between the NSCDC and FRSC remain non-negotiable. We must continue to strengthen our synergy to ensure the effective protection of lives, property and critical infrastructure,” Maku stated.

Responding, FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno, expressed delight over the visit and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to improving road safety and traffic management across the state.

Asekhauno disclosed that the FRSC, under her leadership, had intensified efforts to reduce road traffic crashes and promote greater compliance with traffic regulations.

She noted that the engagement would further consolidate the existing relationship between the two agencies, stressing their shared responsibility to safeguard lives and property.

Both commanders subsequently pledged to deepen inter-agency cooperation through intelligence sharing, joint operations and capacity-building initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and strengthening public safety across Anambra State.

The renewed commitment is expected to foster more coordinated operations and enhance the effectiveness of both agencies in addressing security and road safety challenges in the state.
