Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has celebrated the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor, on his 74th birthday, describing him as a respected spiritual leader and moral voice whose ministry has contributed significantly to the development of the state and society.
In a goodwill message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo commended Bishop Ezeokafor for dedicating decades of his life to the service of God and humanity.
The governor described the Catholic prelate as a consistent advocate for peace, unity and development, noting that his pastoral leadership has continued to enrich both the Catholic faithful and the wider society in Anambra State and beyond.
Soludo said Bishop Ezeokafor’s journey in the priesthood, spanning several decades, was a testament to his commitment, wisdom and enduring faith.
“Having been ordained a priest since 1984, served as Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese from 2007 to 2011, and continued as the Bishop of the Diocese with distinction, pastoral wisdom and unrelenting commitment, Bishop Ezeokafor has today become a living testimony of divine possibilities,” Soludo said.
The governor further described the celebrant as “a respected spiritual father, a consistent advocate of peace, unity and development, and a steady moral voice” whose leadership continues to make a positive impact on the faith community and the larger society.
According to Soludo, Bishop Ezeokafor’s 74th birthday is not merely a celebration of age but also an opportunity to acknowledge his years of sacrifice, spiritual leadership and service.
“As the Most Reverend Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor marks another year of the gift of life with God’s faithfulness, I wish him a happy birthday celebration,” the governor said.
Soludo prayed that God would continue to grant the bishop good health, strength, wisdom and divine grace to enable him serve God and humanity for many more years.
“The Lord will continue to grant the Bishop robust health, strength, wisdom and grace for many more impactful years in the service of God and society,” he added.
Bishop Ezeokafor, who heads the Catholic Diocese of Awka, remains one of the prominent religious voices in Anambra State, with his ministry focused on pastoral leadership, faith, peace and social responsibility.
