Soludo Tasks Corps Members on Diligence, Professionalism, Integrity

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has charged corps members posted to the state for their compulsory national service to serve with diligence, professionalism and integrity.

Soludo made the call while declaring open the swearing-in ceremony of 2026 Batch B stream 1 Orientation Course at the Nnamdi Azikiwe NYSC Unity Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mgbakwu.

The governor, represented by Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Patrick Agha Mba described corps members as valuable partners in development, saying his administration has placed youth development at the heart of the state’s transformation agenda.

He said, “Our administration has placed youth development at the heart of the Anambra Transformation Agenda.

“We firmly believe that the future of our State lies in the creativity, innovation, resilience, and enterprise of our young people.

“This conviction informed the establishment and strengthening of institutional frameworks dedicated to youth empowerment and sports development, ensuring that young people have a stronger voice and greater opportunities to realize their potential.”

Assuring the corps members of the welfare, safety, and security, Soludo pledged continued collaboration with the NYSC management, security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure they served in safe and conducive environment.

“I encourage you to be security conscious and responsible. Respect the laws of the land, avoid activities that may expose you to danger, and maintain close communication with NYSC authorities and relevant security agencies whenever necessary,” he added.

Earlier, NYSC State Coordinator, Pauline Ojisua disclosed that a total of 1,500 prospective corps members, comprising 636 males and 864 females successfully registered for the programme.

She assured that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a safe, conducive, and rewarding camp experience for all participants.

She urged the corps members to embrace the spirit of unity, respect nation’s diversity, obey camp rules as they take oath of allegiance signifying solemn commitment to serve Nigeria faithfully and responsibly.
