Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has challenged Women Coordinators of the City Boys movement to mobilize effectively to ensure successful reelection of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Soludo who gave the charge on Monday during his interaction with the Coordinators at the Light House in Awka, urged the women to operate with clear understanding of their role in coordinating for the State.

Reflecting on previous election cycle, the Governor noted that Tinubu secured victory without significant support from the Southeast.

He expressed desire for Ndigbo to avoid wasting their votes in future electoral cycles.

According to him, women and youths hold essential key to driving meaningful development in the State and Nigeria at large, stressing that his administration is intentionally focused on fostering greater participation for these groups in government.

“You must begin to play politics with your heads. In politics, individuals do not receive what they deserve, but rather what they bargain for. In a democracy, the primary currency for that bargain is the vote.

Highlighting that the future of generations were currently at stake, the governor expressed excitement over activities of the women’s wing as well as their active participation.

He urged the women to mobilize resources and strategize effectively, pledging his absolute support to their activities.

“You have a significant role to play. Your objective in politics should be to maximize benefits for the society. On my part, I will support your initiatives to the best of my ability,” he added.

Speaking earlier on behalf of the group, the Women Coordinator of the Anambra State Chapter, Mrs. Adaora Soludo said the group’s primary objective remained active promotion and support of the Tinubu-led administration.

“The group is strategically positioned to serve as a bridge between the government and the people. The administration’s developmental policies are understood and felt at the local level,” she said.

The event was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, Mayor of Idemili South Local Government Area, Mrs Amaka Obi, among others.
