Stakeholders of Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra state have endorsed the senatorial aspiration of Dr. Alex Obiogbolu ahead of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA primary election slated for May 23.

The stakeholders gave the endorsement during a meeting in Awkuzu, declaring with one voice that the people of Oyi would support and vote for Obiogbolu both at the party primary and in the general election.

Speaking during the gathering, Chief O.C. Ilozue described Obiogbolu as a man of humility, compassion, and uncommon dedication to public service, noting that his humane approach to leadership has endeared him to people across Anambra North.

According to Ilozue, Obiogbolu maintained an open-door policy while serving as Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Political Matters, making himself accessible to party faithful, community leaders, youths and ordinary citizens seeking assistance or intervention.

“Dr. Obiogbolu is not disconnected from the grassroots. He listens to people, identifies with their challenges, and does everything within his capacity to help.

“His style of leadership is people-oriented and inclusive, which is why Oyi people have confidence in him,” Ilozue stated.

Another stakeholder, Chief Emeka Nwankwo, said Obiogbolu’s relationship with Oyi people dates back to the 1990s through his close association with the late former Senate President, Chuba Okadigbo, popularly revered as the Oyi of Oyi.

Nwankwo noted that Obiogbolu’s friendship and mentorship under the respected statesman created a strong bond between him and the people of Oyi.

He added that his longstanding affinity with the area has remained visible over the years through his consistent support and engagement with the people.

He said the stakeholders were convinced that Obiogbolu possessed the competence, experience, and political reach required to attract meaningful representation and development projects to Anambra North.

Responding, Obiogbolu expressed profound gratitude to the stakeholders and people of Oyi for the endorsement and show of confidence in his aspiration.

He assured them that he would remain committed to the ideals of service, inclusiveness, and effective representation, promising to make the people of Oyi and the entire Anambra North proud if elected to the Senate.

“I am deeply humbled by this overwhelming support from Oyi stakeholders. Your trust and confidence mean a lot to me.

“By the grace of God, I will not disappoint you. I will continue to work hard and provide quality representation that will uplift our people and advance the development of Anambra North,” Obiogbolu said.
