Wife of the Governor of Anambra State ,Mrs Nonye Soludo has inaugurated the Anambra Skilled Ladies Program, describing it as her personal gift of love and support to purposeful women during the global month dedicated to celebrating womanhood.

At the ceremony that took place at the SSG Conference Hall, Light House, Awka, Mrs Soludo said the Anambra Skilled Ladies Program is a carefully designed entrepreneurial initiative that provides young women with training in high-demand, lucrative technical skills to foster self-reliance and prosperity.

She revealed that the application portal, when opened a few months ago, attracted over 10,000 thousand submissions in just one week.

According to her, originally planned for fifty participants, the number was doubled to one hundred in response to the overwhelming interest and passion demonstrated by applicants.

The First Lady stressed that the selected trainees secured their places through a very strict and rigorous screening process, even as she charged them to sustain the same level of determination and positive mindset that earned them the opportunity.

The training spans four critical skill areas: Solar and CCTV Installation and Repairs, Air Conditioning (AC) Repair and Maintenance, Tricycle (Keke) Repair, and Painting.

The programme runs for two months one month of intensive practical classes followed by one month of internship with trainees receiving direct supervision from their trainers and ongoing monitoring by an independent follow-up team.

Mrs Soludo encouraged the participants to inject uniqueness and excellence into these traditionally male-dominated fields, to serve as beacons of hope and inspiration to their families, communities, Anambra State, and the nation at large.

She admonished them to face every challenge with resilience, to approach their training with seriousness and dedication, to show respect to trainers and fellow trainees, and to foster unity and a family spirit while avoiding division or unhealthy rivalry.
