Police Recover Arms, N.6m from Fleeing Armed Robbery Gang During Hot Chase in Anambra

Police in Anambra state have recovered arms, suspected stolen cash and other incriminating items from suspected armed robbery gang in Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

Command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga who disclosed this on Wednesday listed the recovered items as one pump-action rifle, one locally fabricated single-barreled rifle, one ash Toyota highlander with reg nos: UWN 680 PE.

“Suspected stolen cash amounting to ₦636,700.00 and other incriminating items were also recovered from the suspects who abandoned their vehicle and fled after it was involved in accident during a hot chase by the operatives,” he added.

According to Ikenga, “The Operatives of the Anambra State Commissioner of Police (CP) Special Patrol, at about 5:00 p.m, December 16, 2025, during an offensive security operation in Abagana, recovered one pump-action rifle, one locally fabricated single-barreled rifle, one ash Toyota highlander with reg nos: UWN 680 PE, suspected stolen cash amounting to ₦636,700.00 and other incriminating items.

“The recovery followed the abandonment of an operational vehicle by fleeing suspects after it was involved in an accident during a hot pursuit by the operatives.
