The Medical Outreach which is part of the 2025 SWAN Week celebration was organised in collaboration with Rock Foundation Hospital, a foremost private medical facility in Awka.

The two day 2025 SWAN Week, also featuring lectures and recognition of deserving sports personalities, would hold between Dec. 11 and Dec. 12.

Speaking at the kick off of the exercise, Dr Chukwudi Njelita, the Chief Medical Director of Rock Foundation said the gesture was in solidarity with the media community especially sports journalists.

Njelita said the checks included random sugar, pulse, blood pressure, and oxygen level.

“Even though I am not a member of SWAN, I am a journalist, a reporter for that matter, that is why I am here to show solidarity with my colleagues.

“I want to thank the management of this hospital and we pray that this institution will grow from strength to strength.

You have shown us love and we promise to make you part of what we are doing going forward,” he said.
