Multiple casualties were recorded in a ghastly motor accident in Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
A speeding tipper loaded with sand was said to have crashed into a crowd along the Chisco park junction, resulting in several loss of lives.
The exact number of casualties were yet to be ascertained in the crash that occurred around 9:30pm on Friday.
But a trending videos from the scene and CCTV footage capturing the incident showed people in their usual night time activities when the tipper rammed into them following loss of control.
The footage showed several of the victims lying on the ground, including motorcyclists, a young girl, bystanders, and several petty traders. Other road users were seen expressing shock and offering rescue assistance.
Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the State, Joyce Alexander was yet to react as at press time.
