President Bola Tinubu on Thursday asked Governor Chukwuma Soludo to secure a plot of land for him to build house ahead of his retirement from active service.

Tinubu made the request while addressing the mammoth crowd that came to receive him at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka during his official visit to the state.

He also expressed appreciation to the traditional rulers representing all 179 communities in the state over the conferement of the prestigious chieftaincy title of ‘Dike Si Mba Anambra’ on him.

The title was conferred by the chairman of the Anambra state traditional rulers council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Ogalagidi, Eze Iweka III).

He said, “I feel deeply honored by the conferement of Chieftaincy title by all traditional rulers in Anambra state.

“The conferement is not only historic, but something I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.

“Thanks to the traditional rulers. May your reign see prosperity. May Nigeria continue as a united country.

A lot of my friends are from Anambra. I’m not just friends with Soludo, but I’m now one of you. I want to ask Soludo to look for a land for me where I will build my retirement home.”

Soludo had earlier urged the president not to be in a hurry to leave the state, expressing his willingness to host him for a minimum period of one month.

President Tinubu was in the state for a one-day working visit to commission several ‘legacy’ projects completed by Soludo’s administration.
